The Revolution is now
Sometimes, you're given a choice. Red pill, blue pill.
Which is it to be?
I think we all know the answer to that one, because slow-motion Kung Fu, double gun action and flying through the sky at supersonic speed is pretty cool by anyone's estimation.
However, sometimes you reach a stage in your life where even the illusion of that choice is no longer an option. Sometimes, you have to step through the door of light and see what's on the other side. And if you thought the world of Spyware, Adware and Malware have had a rough time from me so far - man, you ain't seen nothing yet.
What am I talking about? I'll tell you.
There is something terribly wrong with the digital age - a sickness, overwhelming in both scope and complexity. This sickness is now monstrous, and it has indeed created a monster that seeks to devour it's black heart and spit it back in the face of those who would root your box, invade your privacy and play havok with your digital mind-space.
To borrow a phrase, the only verdict is vengeance - a vendetta.
A vendetta that goes back a long way - all the way to China and returns in a maelstrom of butt-kicking action, punks nailed, creeps busted and money-makers shot to pieces and lying on the ground with their sullied reputations blackened just a little bit further.
But it's not enough.
Stolen moments at the keyboard and a part-time offensive do not a revolution maketh. There needs to be something else. Something more. These are the crossroads of our lives - the important paths where we continue in our status quo, or refuse the matrix and decide to fight.
and so it was, my own personal Morpheus took me to another place entirely, and offered to show me the world as it really was - and how I could really make a difference. Mysterious talks of Greynets and malevolent daisy-chains filled the air, and I knew at that moment there could be no going back.
Sacrifice everything I knew and start afresh, away from a comfortable life with a few brief glimpses of raw excitement and cataclysmic drama?
In truth, someone came to me not with a choice, but the only course of action I could possibly take. So here it is.
With immediate effect, I am now a full-time Malware destroying bloodbath, 24/7, anywhere, anyplace, anytime. After the work done in exposing the BitTorrent installs and the current "fun" in IM land, FaceTime has given me the chance to take back the web - and believe me when I say I don't just mean using Firefox. Previously, there was a very limited amount of time I could spend kicking rogue installer butt. No longer.
I now have an almost unlimited amount of time to jack in and hunt the lowest common denominators of the internet and make them pay. There is offically nowhere for them to run, hide or beg for mercy. If you're in the system - I'll flush you out and mark you for deletion.
I swear to God, if I were a Malware creator, or a rogue affiliate, or some company full of shady deals and even shadier ethics -
I'd just give up, go home, board up the windows, sell the PC and hide under the bed.
The great internet shakedown has begun, and to coin a phrase, it's clobberin' time.
And yet...I can see the questions forming on your lips. Allow me to answer what may be your most pressing concern:
Vitalsecurity.org remains 100% independent. It has not been bought, sold or anything else. FaceTime realise the value of this site and what it sets out to achieve - many companies would possibly be a little uncomfortable with a digital timebomb like this primed and ready to explode at a moment's notice, but they certainly don't intend to put the saftey catch on one of my most lethal weapons, and for that, I salute them. You should too. Grass roots is my stomping ground (like NWA coming straight outta' Compton), and I wouldn't change that for the world. It's just that my world has got a little bigger now.
I will now be launching a multi-faceted crusade on those who would flood you with garbage, the likes of which you have never seen before. It just depends what flavour of "guns...lots of guns" you prefer.
If you want hardcore corporate spyware deconstruction, go to FaceTime and XBlock.
If you want detailed technical analysis with none of the gags, go to Spywareguide.com.
If you want interesting questions and a suggestion on how voicing your opinion can directly impact revenue streams, go to ReveNews.
If you want a full on, voice of God raging from a thunderstorm malware apocalypse complete with stupid pictures, pressure cranked up to 11 and the now obligatory sound and vision link, keep it tuned to Vitalsecurity.org.
And this is just the start - there are more things on the horizon, including something which is just going to wipe the floor with anyone foolish enough to get in the way.
All of this (and more besides) will be channeled into a number of places, with the overall aim of creating an unstoppable flood of sucker punches to the very heart of people responsible for sickening garbage like this.
I have made the leap, left the safety of my everyday life and there is no going back. If you put your trust in me, I will not let you down and shall continue to strike shuddering blows against the black skies that cloud all our digital liberties.
If you are on the other side of the digital chasm?
Then beware the mother of all superpunches, because it's coming.
The Revolution is now.
