Apologies to 180 Solutions...

Brian Wallace, of 180 Solutions, sent me the following email:

Chris,
Will you please IMMEDIATELY fix this error on your site.

..Wrote:
...this is the first time in our six years of existence, to my knowledge, that we have been distributed with this type of illegal content.

You posted:
this is the first time in our six years of existence, to my knowledge, that we have distributed this kind of illegal content.
I imagine this was a simple error, and would appreciate the quick fix. As you can see the two statements have grossly different meanings.

Thanks for your immediate attention to this matter,
Brian

An unfortunate error has occured on this site, and I pride myself on being accurate and must update accordingly. The email from 180 Solutions did indeed state:

"Fortunately, this is the first time in our six years of existence, to my knowledge, that we have been distributed with this kind of illegal content."

and not

"Fortunately, this is the first time in our six years of existence, to my knowledge, that we have distributed this kind of illegal content."

180 Solutions were NOT distributing illegal content - their software was being distributed on an illegal website. I'm sure you can appreciate there is a huge difference, and within the context of the post it is clear that we are talking about software being distributed on an UA porn site:

"It is good to see 180 Solutions taking the people behind it to the cleaners.."

"I imagine there's actually reams of UA porn sites that install software without consent."

The error occured because the Blogger interface would not accept the format of the email when cut and paste - hence the manual retype, and the subsequent error. There was no malice involved - an intentional mistype would be foolish at best, seeing as Wayne Porter had already posted a copy of the email previously. As mentioned in the last post, it's good to see 180 tackling the people behind the site itself head on, and I wish some of the other companies whose software was bundled from that site had been as proactive in shutting the install down.

Sincere apologies to 180 Solutions for any distress this has caused.
