How crazy is security?

...pretty nuts, actually. You may or may not remember the BitTorrent epic from a month or so ago. Who am I kidding, there are people on Mars who are probably sick to death of hearing about it. But what you may not know is that I recieved numerous crazy death-threats from people with far too much time on their hands. And a recent encounter on a London train got me thinking about the wider implications of online security.
