When donations go wrong...

This is nothing to do with security, but quite frankly it has annoyed me beyond words and deserves a mention. The immensely popular website Somethingawful.com (itself knocked out by Hurricane Katrina) started a donation relief effort for the victims. Within half a day, they had pulled in $13,000 dollars, at one point pulling in $3,000 per-hour.

Guess what? After pulling in $20,000 dollars, Paypal pulled the donation account!

To say I'm horrified is not even putting it mildly. I had considered putting a Paypal donate button back onto the site, but after this we will be remaining Paypal free for the forseeable future.

Disgusting. No doubt Somethingawful.com will recieve a useless automated reply with useless generic answers too. Bet they can't wait...
