Web Services Increasingly Under Attack

...you better believe it, baby!

Check out this nifty writeup by Dan Goodin about the recent spate of attacks on popular services - or rather, attacks on the users of those services. Much easier to exploit, and you don't have to do nearly as much haxx0rish stuffage to get your hands on their goodies.

As it were.

Actually, I'm going to reserve the right to be contradictory here because the three page writeup does cover some of the angles where attacking the apps themselves are concerned - it's just that it's Saturday and I'm probably chilling, Gangsta style on a boat somewhere. So go read it, digest the wonderful nuggets of information contained within and ponder the closing line:

"The arms race is going to continue."
