Is it just me...

...or is using a premium rate dialler for smileys the stupidest thing you've ever seen?

Worth noting the site is in German and I can't really imagine non-German speaking kids working this one out. To kick things off you type OK into the box and that downloads the dialler, while scaring you senseless with a strange bar that starts filling up across the bottom of the screen.

Seriously, who comes up with this stuff? And (more to the point) does anybody out there know anyone that would use this service?
