P2P Movie files that will spammalise you

...hmm, Spammalise...not sure if that's a word, but anyway. Check out my latest Spywareguide entry, where I illustrate how movie files floating around P2P land are using a functionality of Quicktime to pop open spamtacular affiliate links for adult dating services.

Of course, the sites popped open have lots of naked people on them but I took the liberty of hiding their horrendous, saggy flash with the Quicktime boxes. Hooray!

I must admit, I wasn't aware Quicktime had this particular feature available - not sure I like media players having this sort of ability, either. Want to bet how long it is before someone uses this as a method of popping up drive-by websites? Of course, people could well be doing it already...
