Search for illegal content...find Zango videos instead

Sunbelt have found a site which redirects to a porn site hosting Zango videos. The problem is the not-so-wonderful list of terms used on the pages performing the redirection. You can see a nifty list here, courtesy of the Sunbelt guys. Be warned, it's full of all kinds of dubious words.

You can also click the screenshot to the left and see a sample for yourself, though again - it's not pleasant.

The way it works is like this:

I go searching for incredibly dodgy stuff online, see results coming back to me in Google and click on one of the sites. Instead of getting my illegal pr0n jollies however, I'm taken to a porno page that hosts Zango videos.

However, that's not the end of the story.

Far be it from me to add a few shovelfuls of pain onto Zango, but wouldn't you just know it if I'd been examining this particular porno scam myself for the last few days too? There's a veritable ring of real sleazy sites using these keywords and more besides, all with the intention of getting you to the Zango videos.

Warning - do not visit the below with javascript turned on, or you will see naked people doing the funky monkey.

So far I have morechiangmaihotel(dot)com, truehistory(dot)us, askletter(dot)info and a bunch of others which I'm currently pulling apart. They're all essentially the same website, with a pile of identical pages all hosting the wonderful keywords used to redirect you to the Zango content.

See, they might have made the pornosite itself whoisguard protected (meaning you can't see who registered the site), but they possibly forgot to do the same for the numerous redirection domains.

There's a name mentioned for the Sunbelt redirection domains, which is Darleen Earlly.

The name I keep coming across is Wesley Dufrene Sr., though of course any of them could be fake.

Regardless, these sites are relying on extremely dubious keywords to redirect you to Zango content.

Oh yes, I almost forgot - the porn site in question features in numerous PC hijacks, like here and here.

So, in summary, we have

1) redirects relying on people looking for potentially illegal content that leads them to Zango videos instead and
2) the website at the center of the storm featuring in numerous PC hijacks.

Awesome quality control, guys.
