Zango go Viral on Youtube...but not in the way they'd hoped
Labels: Zango
Hot on the heels of all those angry pr0n webmaster guys picking a fight with Zango, we now have.....angry Youtubers who object to them advertising on that particular site. At this point I'd normally link to the clip in question, but Youtube isn't working right for me. With that in mind, I embedded the code into the page instead so you can see what I'm talking about.
Some of the information is factually incorrect (mainly about it being "impossible to uninstall"...my main beef has always been with who they partner with and how they get onboard in the first place, rather than the relatively pain free uninistaller) but still....ouch. The guy in the clip demands anyone who objects to Zango being on Youtube to write in to Google's newest baby and complain bitterly.
Didn't some guy somewhere hail Zango as an up and coming "Web 2.0" innovation? I find it rather humorous that the usersof those other supposed Web 2.0 sites don't want them coming to the party. Mind you, I don't really class "website with random videoclips on it" Web 2.0 anyway. It's more 1.6, if you're feeling generous. Especially as you can't actually "download" Youtube clips, you can only share them which some marketing guy somewhere would have you believe means it breaks one of the golden rules of Web 2.0.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn.
As you can tell, I don't really care about the who or what of Web 2.0 but anyway....
...it's "Gotta' catch em all" time. From the title I'd guess there's more of these I LOVE ZANGO clips out there on Youtube. Problem is, my search thingy keeps breaking so bonus points to anyone that can dig out the other links.
And now if anyone needs me, I'll be watching clips of people falling off skateboards.
