How NOT to remove panic from Myspace

It's nice that Myspace is FINALLY warning people about the worm that's caused so many problems over the weekend, but advising everyone to go download the patch they requested Apple put together, only for those same users to get the message from Apple that

Quick Time is missing software required to perform this operation. Unfortunately, it is not available on the Quick Time server.

....this is just stupid. People are now running round wondering whether the update has been applied. Also, Myspace are claiming they have had all the domains hosting the rogue files "taken down". Why is at least one (widely publicised) domain still up and running?
