China: Yes, we're going to force install Alexa Toolbar

The Western World: Oh noes!

That's right, we found a frankly bizarre scheme (off the back of a particularly nasty Trojan) involving a forced install of Alexa Toolbar, apparently to inflate the rank of a bunch of rather strange websites.

We think.

Who knows, it's all in Chinese. That's what it looks like, anyway. Ah, the joys of researching Chinese Malware. First, you get all these files that make no sense. Then, you get all these websites in Chinese that...make no sense. Then you get all these companies an individuals and leet hax0rs that....well, I'm sure you can guess the rest by now.

At any rate, jump on over to the Spywareguide Blog for the full writeup. I'm now going to lie down for about, oh, six months.
