Messenger Discovery Live: Revisited

A few weeks back, I tested out this thing:

....an add-on for MSN Messenger (or Live, or whatever the Hell it's called this week) to see what it did - due to a number of issues including PCs exploding, I didn't get a chance to run this blog entry.

Now I can. Isn't that awesome?

With regards the application itself, I think most of what needs to be said has already been mentioned here.

However.

Would you trust an application - any application - where the very first thing you see when running the executable is a FREAKING POP UP ADVERTISEMENT obscuring the EULA / installer box?

.....no, I didn't think so.

Worst marketing practice ever.

In fact, combine with a desktop obliterating popup for some casino nonsense, and the whole thing quickly becomes a lesson in WTF and BBQ:

At this point, I gave up in disgust and didn't even bother to try out the application. I'm all for cool and funky additions, but jamming adverts galore down my throat before I've even had a chance to see what the Hell I'm installing is obnoxious and, well, craptacular.

In the immortal words of Jack Krak...
