Is it Cool to Be a Hacker?

"What I saw were kids talking about ways to beat others out of their accounts, their money, or their digital assets. I didn't see any white or black hats -- only potential exploits, and feedback on whether they might work. The participants who posted workable scams improved their "rep;" those who didn't got flamed." - Tim Wilson, Dark Reading

I love the above quotation, especially the "no white or black hats, only potential exploits" bit. Reduce a lot of these kids to the bare bones essence of what they are online, and that's exactly all they are - walking DDoS tools. Hell, last week I saw one forum that (on its "welcome" page, if you could call it that), threatens to DDoS your IP address simply for registering on their forum,
even though they're inviting you to join in the first place.

Yeah, sign me up baby.

Click here for a follow up to this article from a week or so ago, interesting stuff.
