Mid-Week Spywareguide Roundup
Okay, one roundup at the end of the week didn't feel right, but neither did tons of individual links to new Spywareguide writeups. With that in mind, I'm going to run with two roundups a week.
I think. Anyway, here we go:
* Ebay Sale of the Century (sort of): If you like the look of items on EBay selling for this much money:
.....then you're going to love this writeup, examining the wonderful world of fake bidding.
* DreamPhish - How to ruin a 10 year anniversary: The Dreamcast is - and will always be - an amazing videogame console. I love my Dreamcast.
There it is, looking all Dreamcast-y. I was pretty annoyed to hear about the recent Dreamcast.com phish that took place a week or so ago. I haven't seen much (if any) coverage about this on security blogs - only game sites and the like. With that in mind, here's a nifty roundup of how it all went down, along with some additional information on a previous Dreamcast scam from 2006. Random fact: my birthday falls on the same day that SEGA released the last ever official Dreamcast game. I rock.
* More EBay Fake Bidding Wars: You know you love it. Unless they're your auctions being ruined, in which case you probably want to kill someone. Now with all new "established EBay member conspiracy theory".
* Hopeless Email Phish: Nothing much to say here, just a really poor attempt at a phishing email.
That's your lot for now...
