1. What we do..

Look to provide you with the best digital rights and wrongs information around. As a tribute to our old Vitalsecurity.net site, we include the original security papers, along with the occasional new article. We cannot however be held responsible for any damage caused to your system by following the Security Tutorials. You do so entirely at your own risk - we're not forcing you to use a particular brand of firewall or switch off your file and printer sharing! It should also be noted that there is no such thing as 100% foolproof security. The security papers just lessen the odds of you being attacked.

2. Copyright

All material published on the site (including graphics, banners, security articles and lots of other stuff) are the copyright of Vitalsecurity.org, unless otherwise stated. No material may be used without our express permission. I am aware that some of the old Vitalsecurity.net articles are mirrored on other websites - this is fine. but please email us at vitalsecurity@vitalsecurity.org before using any material produced whilst using the .org domain name.

3. Privacy Policy

Basic information is (of course) collated when you visit the site (most visited pages, browser type etc), though no IP addresses are stored for nefarious purposes - only domain referral points etc. This information is used to assess what parts of the site work, and which parts suck. It also allows us to get a better picture of who our audience is and tailor the site accordingly. We don't store any of your personal information for marketing purposes - I have better things to do with my time than ring you up at 6 in the morning and try to sell you some double-glazing. We may email you occasionally, but only if you subscribed to one of our services, such as the IGNITE! Newsletter. You can opt out of any services you've signed up to at any time by emailing paperghost@vitalsecurity.org

4. Downloads

The programs in the Download section are not hosted by us, provided by us, created by us or anything else by us. They're just a bunch of links to other websites that host the program in question. If you have any doubts, queries or problems with the programs, please don't contact us as we don't have any say in the matter. Better to contact the download site itself, or the program's creators.

5. Additions and amendments

From time to time it may be neccessary to change, amend or update this page in keeping with what's going on with the site. We reserve the right to do this at any time, with no notice given to the users of the site. It's like that thing about the chocolates in Forrest Gump.
